What's New:

The Missouri Stalk Nitrate Test Challenge:  Did you do a good job predicting nitrogen need for your corn crop last spring? Did you over apply or under apply? The stalk nitrate test is a powerful tool for assessing the fertilizer nitrogen decisions in a corn field. My program is working with the University of Missouri Soil Testing Laboratory to promote use of this test in Missouri. Typical analysis cost for the test is $10 per sample. We will analyze at the MU lab up to 10 samples from any Missouri farm at no cost if you submit the requested information.

Missouri CAFO Nutrient Management Technical Standard approved: This standard defines how manure nutrients are managed on Missouri CAFOs. This standard will affect existing CAFOs when their permit is renewed.

The Missouri Manure Plant Available Nutrients Calculator Updated: This calculator estimates nutrient availability in manure using MDNR availability coeficients. The calculator was recently updated to simplfy data entry requirements.

SNMP-2.0 Released: Spatial Nutrient Management Planner (SNMP) is a geographical information system (GIS) that helps collect and report spatial information used in nutrient management planning.  SNMP-2.0 was designed for ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 or 9.3 platforms.  Download this new tool at no charge. Version 2.0.0026 released Dec. 4, 2008 checks for installation prerequisites.
